Walking
Bromyard is a ‘Walkers are Welcome’ Town. Walkers are very welcome in Bromyard, and Bromyard is a great place to walk!
Walks around Bromyard is an excellent little guidebook with eight local walks of different lengths, and fully waymarked. Look out for the orange and blue waymarks. It is available at £3 from Food for All, BromyardLive and many other places in Bromyard.
Since the guide was published, there have been some changes on the ground and some footpath problems on parts of some routes. Consequently, we have produced a Walks around Bromyard supplement which details the changes and which you can download here.
IMPORTANT NEWS
Two bridges across the Frome in Avenbury have been temporarily closed because of erosion of the bank. They are the bridge by the disused Avenbury church (AV3 for the initiated) and the bridge on the path which links Bromyard hospital to the Avenbury lane (AV2). Both bridges feature in Walk 6 of the Walks around Bromyard book and you will need to alter the walk by sticking to the lanes.
